The silver bits on each side, are they some sort of clip?
Otherwise there may be 4 holes, which when have prongs inserted will release the stereo.
This is spot on, if you can try squeezing them together it may come out - alternately try Halfords, they sell various radio removal tools!Otherwise there may be 4 holes, which when have prongs inserted will release the stereo.

Mine was screwed in. Ended up having to remove the centre dash panel to get the radio out and it was only obvious that the panel had to be removed once it was removed! It's not a big job (5-10 mins) and once you pull the eye-bal vents out it should all become obvious
Yeah, that's been fitted in 5 mins by some half-a-job monkey. Get the dash panel out, not a long job, and you can screw it in properly. Makes it basically theft proof, will never slid out of the dash under acceleration, and looks nicer as it's flush with the dash...Not a particularly good photo, but you can see how the stereo is about half in inch further in to the dash.

It'll come out easily - no need to dismantle the centre console. I believe it's 2 flat-blade prongs with a Panasonic and they go down the sides between the prongs that are sticking out from the HU. You should be able to push any flat blades down there to release the catches though like a pair of thin-bladed knives. Just push them between the HU and the cage below the prongs but up at an angle so you can release the catches.

Just removed the radio, it was quite easy. There's a metal lever just above the clip on the right side.Pressing this in releases the radio from the right side. There is no clip on the feft side so with a good pull it came out.
Not a very secure fixing for an open top, especially if parked up with the top down.
Would have included a pic but the battery has just died in my camera. Maybe later.
Thanx to all those who posted replies.
Steve.
