Bush replacement- Worth it?
Discussion
Morning all,
I have recently purchased a Mk1 for the princely sum of £600. You might have seen it on the other thread!
I have also seen the slanderous threads on MX5Nutz about it and intend to join soon!

Mechanically, it seems brilliant. Interior is immaculate and engine pulls very well. Although it's done 132k miles it's been well looked after. Cambelt and water pump done earlier in the year. Has had a little work on the sills I believe but no obvious rust- Fingers crossed.
I have ordered one of the Rokkor suspension kits from Ebay.fr and it's due to arrive on Monday- £135 delivered! However my thoughts turned to poly bush sets- Whilst I'm doing the suspension it's not a great deal more hassle to sort out the bushes. However, £200 for the back seems quite expensive. Is this worth doing, and are there any cheaper alternatives? Clearly don't want to spend a fortune on a £600 car...

Bloody hell thats a paint job! not my cup of tea but its different !
Polybushing: Its gonna make the car more responsive but you will get a lot more feedback from the road - good and bad.
Speaking from experience with a fully polybushed 200sx on coilovers, however - if its never going to see a trackday then just replace them with standard items. Theres something to be said about retaining some flex/give in the setup on public roads (and this goes for springs as well). Its actually faster in the real world and thats what matters.

Not sure if mine is an exception to rule however:
Having bushes, dampers and springs replaced took ~9hours.
Then taking it to have alignment done today, it was a nightmare and had to settle for a compromise in the end. (Front caster mostly being the trouble).
That's quite a lot more than the dampers/springs alone- Mine took 3.5hrs I believe, not sure if the laser alignment was included in this time.Having bushes, dampers and springs replaced took ~9hours.

What colour does it say it is on the registration document?
Currently red. Just had the V5 back so am going to send it off when I get a chance. Insurance have been notified of colour change. Wind your neck in
Green/brown/black etc.
