water in drivers side footwell/56 plate car

Friend at work has a soft top 56plate MX5, this morning, she found the drivers side footwell completely soaked through(imagine a whole bucket of water). I had a look and can't spot any obvious entry points around the door seal.

Any ideas?

More than an idea, I suspect I know precisely what it is.

Have a look here and you'll see I had exactly the same issue on my 56 plate MX5, and how it was resolved.

Oh, and I swapped my car later for an 07 example. The day I picked it up it was throwing it down with rain. And guess what? Exactly the same (quickly remedied via the same method).
