Mk2 1.8 to Mk3 2.0
Discussion
I'm guessing a few of you guys have gone from Mk2/2.5 1.8 litre to 2.0. How do you find the performance compares between the old car and the new?
I'm toying with supercharging a Mk2 or just going and getting a Mk3 2.0 Sport and not getting into the hassle and cost of forced induction. Does the 2.0 really feel much, if any, faster? How much more torque is there low down?
My wife had a Mk3 1.8 when they first came out and I felt it was pretty slow, considerably less lively than a Mk2 1.8.
cheers

I prefer my mk3 2.0 to my mk2.5 1.8, though not down to the power side of things. I had a 2004 1.8 Sport Mk2.5 and it was replaced with a Mk3 2.0 Sport (so both top spec models). I had a Clio 182 in between for 3 months and I don't think the Mk3 is much quicker (0.5s to 60). The Mk3 does have a bit more torque and I also like the toys it has.
That said, I've just replaced it with a Mk1 1.8 and the Mk3 is going up for sale soon.....
