S Specials

I'm thinking about buying an S Special, but want to confirm the spec before I do so. Does anyone know if the S special has the torsen diff?

The two model guides on the OC forum ( here and here) don't mention it. However, the general consensus on forums is that it does...

I'm sure this has been asked before, but can anyone confirm?

What year/engine is it? Earlier 1.6 would have viscous lsd and later 1.8 would have TorSen lsd.

Whoops, should've mentioned that! A '94 1.8.

OK, cheers Just so I'm clear, did ALL 1.8 S specials have TorSens? As on the spec list I've linked to above it seems to state that they were optional extras, but everyone seems to agree that all the 1.8 S specials had them. Is it just that they didn't bother importing any that didn't have them?!

Sorry for covering the same ground again, it's just that I doubt sellers would like it if I ask them if I could quickly do a doughnut in their car to test their LSD

the 1.8 S-Spec has a torsen as standard..
Think the only options were the rear-spoiler delete and front fog lights.

Finally someone has asked the obvious question I've been reading page after page about since I got my 1.8 S Special a month ago :-D

Thanks and 'phew' that it's not a viscous a.k.a 'open now after 16 years on the road' diff!
