Front Speakers in mk1

My front speakers sound like a pladge of wasps having an orgy and not much else.
I don't have any headrest speakers (late uk mk1), and don't plan on getting any.

I have been looking through this list:

But really, me picking one would be completely arbitrary, based on price and loosely based on brand.

Could someone who knows more than nothing pick a pair for me. I've also noticed the speaker cable is very thin, does that matter? I hear it's quite a painful job trying to change it, which is why i'm starting with the speakers first.
