I suspect I may need to purchase an additional module but having read through the brochure it gives the impression that iPod connectivity is standard with the BOSE system, can anyone confirm this for me please?

It has 3.5mm aux-in as standard. Quality is good.

Where does the jack live? The manual is helpfully crap and I've not had a chane to have a real rake around the cabin yet.

It's not standard on the mk3 in the UK. You can buy an additional module from mx-5 parts fir circa £80 that works with iPods and iPhones etc.

If I am not mistaken iPod connectivity is standard with the Bose system in the country of origin only!

Can't comment on Mk3 but my 3.5 with Bose has an aux-in in front of the gear stick.

My mrs has Mazda 2 and bought an iPod lead from Mazda and it's crap really, no display and you can't cycle through the iPod albums/tracks properly.

I prefer my aux-in and controlling the music from the iPod itself.

The audio link from mx-5 parts is pretty good, you can cycle playlists or control it from the iPod, whichever you choose!

Ah ok. I think it's ok for the Mk3 but as I had a 3.5, at the time I couldn't go for it as it hadn't been updated for the latest Bose, not sure if it's still the case. I have a Griffin Autopilot which is great, only one connection into the iPhone and you can control the music through the connector or the iPhone itself.
