Hey everyone! Has anybody here purchased new seats for their Mk1 MX5?
The seats in my Mk1 are looking a little tatty and I am looking to buy some nice new ones. I would like something a little sporty looking and perhaps in leather but cannot go as far as bucket seats (I need to be able to fit a babyseat in my passenger seat)

Can anybody please recommend a good site to shop for seats? I've done a few google searches but haven't really found anything frown

Thanks

Considered getting them retrimmed? There seems to be lots of sellers on eBay offering leather covers for your existing seats.

If they are just looking tatty, but are otherwise in a condition you are happy with. You should be able to get them re-trimmed.

Dandycars will do you a leather interior for under £900.

But a local place to you should be able to do it.

Well tatty was a little bit of an understatement. I would prefer whole new seats if I'm honest. Thanks tho

If you aren't too tall then fitting seats from a Mk2.5 (2001+) is a good upgrade as they are generally considered to be more comfortable and look better but the base is a bit higher so not best for people over 6 foot tall.

That makes no sense, a retrimmed seat will look like a brand new seat in everyway.

That depends on how much of the foam has been eaten by the dog....although you'd hope a good trimmer could replace the foam.

If it must be seats I guess a chat with autolink or mx5heaven or a.n.other MX5 breaker is the way forward.

They are not the original seats and were put in by the previous owner. They feel very very well sat on. Not an awful lot of padding/foam left

Try Mx5 heaven or Autolink. Both break 5's and may have good used seats. Autolink also have leather replacement covers or new leather seats in a range of colours.
