Hi all

Great timing eh!; just had four new Yokohamas fiited to my Mk1 yesterday and on way to friends, slid sideways at about 2mph on sheet ice into the kerb, thereby probably no damage but have i expect, upset the geometry.

Where is best to go in south-east; South London, East Sussex, NW Kent?

Suugestions for toe/cambercaster settings please?

Thanks

Andy

Wheels In Motion seems to be the place.

But not very local. Ask for a local recommendation on the Wheels In Motion forum wink

WIM are quite good about letting others know their settings, I recently had my Mk1 done at Protyre in Bristol using the WIM specs. Can let you have them if needed.

Will do, have them on a sheet somewhere at home, not sure if they are Mk1 specific only though.

Noted! I will scan in the spec sheet at work to avoid confusion since I don't know my arse from elbow in these matters hehe

I got my spec from WIM also. Bear in mind when sharing them with others, that height of car is crucial. ie if blokey #1 has lowering springs or somesuch, then those settings will not quite work with blokey #2 who has a 5 with standard spring set up.

That said, give WIM a ring, even though it feels really cheeky cos you're not buying anything. Tony is a very decent guy & more than happy to recomend settings based on your car set up.

I wouldn't mind a copy of the setup too if I might be so cheeky!

Would it be an issue just posting it on the public forum?

That shouldn't be a problem. There is no copy right/ipr on geo settings and I've seen them posted on forums before.
eta: that might not be true...

I want to have my Mk2.5 set up with the WiM fast road settings, but I am hundreds of miles away from them. Can I just email them and ask for the settings they would use? That does seem very cheeky.

I know a decent tyre place nearby that does alignment - is that all that is necessary or is there some specific equipment required? Does having OEM sport suspension and the 16" wheels make a difference to the required settings?

WiM have a number of recommended centres all over the country. Take a look here.

Indeed. Give your local one a ring before you go in though...I just popped by to my local one near Gatwick & they said due to my car being lowered, they couldnt touch it & that it would probably make it worse so they stick to only standard setup cars frown

Fiddlesticks.
