Mk3 fuel economy
Discussion
Having just passed the 1000 mile mark my Road Trip app is showing my fuel consumption as 33mpg.
At least 400 miles have been top down, a good 300 on M-Way and the rest 'normal' driving.
Is this pretty much as expected? I noticed that with the top down economy dropped by about 2-3 mpg, I take it that's about right?
Pretty happy with figures although combined dropping from 37mpg avg in the Puma to increased fuel costs I can sure feel the difference at the pumps
2.0 btw.

Havent checked your profile but assuming it is a 2.0 sport then yes, that sounds right. Mine has averaged 31 ish over the last 20k miles. Roof down for about 95% which does dip the mpg.
It is indeed the 2.0 sport
O/T but how do you find the WIM setup over the standard suspension?

Slightly more crashy and there is a tendency toundersteer more (I have a fair bit of camber). Much less body roll and the car is more responsive. It gave me renewed confidence in the driving experience of the 5.rfn said:

Unfortunately I have a 25mile B road trip to work so I don't want suspension which feels like I've stuck the cheapest set of Spax springs on that I coulf find!
I don't know what planet I was on when I wrote that last post! The car doesn't understeer at all, neither before or after it was lowered (providing you have good tyres!)
With the WiM springs and the geo set just so, there is a tendency to tramline a little, especially on motorways.
It feels very much standard but obviously you've got to appreciate that there is significantly less spring travel! The can does lean slightly, but nowhere near as much as it did when standard, this gives you more confidence when pressing on. Handles very well and gives great feedback still too.
I've done almost 20k miles with the suspension lowered and it improved the drive considerably. Achieved nearly 5k miles in two weeks during the summer last year, without a hitch, plenty of comfort!

Come March time when the weather is better I will most likely have the suspension upgraded, certainly no point in these conditions
