Morning folks,

Still loving my bizarre camouflage Mk1 Eunos. (Touch wood) has run like a dream so far. Gearbox a bit sticky between changes when very cold (IE cold outside, car not warmed up) but apart from that an absolute hoot. I've put the eBay suspension on it, and full WiM geometry, which has transformed the car. I do however need to replace the ditchfinders soon! The best £600 I've ever spent.

My question is: This oil gauge malarkey is a whole new bit of info for me. It generally fluctuates, in broad terms the pressure is high when cold, and then moves between low/medium when in traffic/hooning.

What are the normal ranges? Just so I can have a point of reference.

Thanks,

Sam

mine goes to 90 when cold, then down to 30-40 when idling, 60ish most of the time

Mine is normally idling around 5 or 6 (kg/cm^2 - roughly the same as psi?) when cold, then drops to around 2 when idling warm and between 3 and 4 when driving. When the engine is red hot (i.e. after a very spirited drive) it idles at a little under 2.

HTH.

Cheers folks, sounds like mine is within the normal ranges, and fluctuating normally between hot/cold/hoon.

Here is the beast in action at the Pink Pig Run earlier this year...

At the Haynes meet...

And in the snow...

It's had a good wash and hoover today so looks far healthier. Of course, it is a fairly dodgy paint job so it never actually looks shiny!

I don't see a car in any of those pics! There is a head poking out above a bush in the 1st pic - is the car behind the bush? confused

hehe Previous owner did it with rattle cans, I believe, for a charity run... Then I bought it for bobbins because apparently the paint job wasn't popular confused I might do it in desert colours for the summer!
