Thought I'd put up a few pics of my new seats. They are Elise S2 / VX220 seats. Much better than standard, sit a bit lower and they have much better shoulder support. Certainly feel a lot more connected with the car now and less hanging on to the steering wheel for dear life. thumbup

Depends how handy you are I guess, had to fabricate brackets to attach them to the runners smile

Very similar colour scheme as my boyfriend's MX5 (his is the SE). He too put in Elise seats but got them re-trimmed to be in keeping with the tan theme.

Seats look ace!

Just wondered though....how does the fixed seat belt socket thing affect the seat belt position on your lap? Does it sit a bit high and off the waist?

I ask because someone (Jonny671 I think!) mentioned using a CG lock with these seats and from your photos it looks like you sit a lot lower and deeper in the seat, which suggests it might make the CG lock and fixed seat belt bracket combo even more pronounced...make sense?!

I find that even on my mk1 with standard seats and fixed seat belt bracket the CG lock is a little bit 'high' on my left side. Doesn't seem to affect the CG lock operation though, still holds me viciously in place!

Right so the seatbelt stalk still has a degree of movement:

With CG lock:

The lap belt sits exactly where you'd want it to be. You can see there is a small gap at the bottom of the shoulder strap, but thats indicative of the CG lock rather than the seats.

Blimey. That was a) quick and b) very informative! Answered it in one!

I would show my CG lock angle but aside from the fact no-one would care wink the car is 100 miles away!

How do you find the cg lock generally? . I even used mine on my old pug 205 and it made such a difference!

I only put it on the day before yesterday Tom, but it seems to do the job quite well and stops my arse sliding around in the seat.

Its a bit cumbersome though and a bit of a faff. It would be good if it could be removed and refitted a bit more easily, but ho hum!

Ha ok then. Used mine on a trackday in a mate's ZT 190 and it made an enormous difference. I was sat in a sumptuous armchair at the time though.

It looks like you've got the latest one with the slidy bit. You can take this off and it goes back to normal (just with a bit more weight). Agreed on the faff aspect, I find my seatbelts are so old the weight of the thing means I need to roll them back up by hand.

Mine has a pump on the passenger seat as well as the drivers seat... what does that say about my passengers? wobble
