Time for a brake pad change as my brakes feel very unassured at the moment.

Heard many good things about the Axxis pads and was wondering whether they are suitable for road use?

Will be changing pads, installing Goodrich stainless hoses and sticking some good brake fluid in.

They are fine for road use, better than "road" pads and don't need to be warmed up. Only drawback is the amount of dust they create.

Get some of whatever "Mr MXT" is using, I can't remember what he said they are but they're very impressive. I'll be getting a set when I change mine.

He'll be along shortly to let you know what they are smile

Great pads and a worthwhile upgrade from standard, like already mentioned they do dust a lot.

Also check out Mintex M1144's, bit more expensive but even better than the Axxis imho.

Im running EBC Yellowstuff's at the moment which i got a good deal on and im not very impressed so far, poor bite from cold and not all that great when hot. I think you get what you pay for..

I have Yellowstuff at the moment too and I'm also not too impressed with them. I've been slating them for ages so thought it was about time I tried out the latest formulation. At Brands on Monday they did manage to go the day without fading but I wasn't happy with the pedal feel and they also managed to lock up briefly a few times despite the best efforts of the ABS. I'll be going back to Axxis ULT when replacement time comes around again.

great for road use, as are teh slightly more expensive mintex M1144. can't go wrong with either imo (unless you're more into polishing your wheels than driving)

Oi! Stop texting me for answers then passing them off as your own! wink

Ultimates on the front, Yellowstuff on the back.

Although FYI 5speed have informed me that the Ultimates have since been rebranded as "StopTech".

Maybe a bit overkill for the road, but it has to be Carbotech XP8 if you REALLY want to stop quickly. They're bloody expensive but well worth it if you track the car though
