Yep !! On the look out already - let me know if anything comes your way which may be of interest to me - budget to start with for a track prep'd car 2.5K.

It can depend on your details but there's not normally any significant difference on insurance for the mx5 or eunos. The Miata might be slightly different (correct me if I'm wrong) as they are left hand drive.
Can Eunos roadsters apply for classic insurance Ash? Also could my O/H be on my policy on a classics as shes 22, me being 26.I got a quote for an Mx5 at £1025 so I had a look through the classifieds for one, found a gorgeous Eunos and ran a repeat quote with the plate and declared the import bit, the quote came back at £2100! Needless to say I now own an Mx5 and not an Eunos
All quotes were with Admiral who were by far and away the cheapest for me.

The amount of underwriters that will quote on an import is far less than a UK car, therefore the chances of you getting a decent quote are smaller.
Still, ring around as a previous poster says and you should still be able to get a very competitive quote. I found A-plan to be very good, underwritten by Equity Red Star. Big plus was that any mods (up to point) are covered for free, though mine is staying standard.

Hi we do insure these on classic policies as long as your details fit those schemes. If its a second car, garaged and a limited mileage is applied its possible. It would be cheaper without your partner on there but still possible.
Everything would be cheaper without my partner
garaged is fine, would it be a 6k limit? just getting ideas as its due in April, and its currently costing more than my Renaultsport Megane

I'm looking for an MX5 at the moment. Running actual cars through confused.com gave me £175 fully comp. (+ £25 legal cover) for a UK car worth £3k against £235 (+ £25 legal cover) for a Eunos worth a similar amount. So not a great deal of difference for me. Bear in mind I'm an old fart living in the sticks with full ncd.
