Key won't open the boot.

Hi Folks,

Just bought a 1999 MK2 MX 5. My first one. All seems fine with the car except the two keys supplied with it don't open the boot. The inside release works so not a massive problem but just wondering what the problem is. I've WD40'd the lock etc etc but no luck.

Any info would be appreciated.

I've got this with mine as one of my keys is worn and won't open the boot.

I can with the other newish key but I have to push it hard into the lock whilst turning it.

I'm having to use the interior release as the previous owner has a plate around the licence plate that stops the key going in!
