Turbo Manifold options

Any input? I've been looking into this as it really is the 'backbone' of a Turbo kit and the best place to start from - everything subsequntly depends on what manifold, then obviously what Turbo you use.

After much looking and reading up, it seems there's basically 4 options here.

1. Cheap ebay jobbie - tubular.
2. Custom, tubular.
3. FM. ££££
4. Begi. £££


Anything I've missed? Any input on whats 'best' and whats 'best value'?

Particularly interested to hear from anyone who's got experience of option 2 - as this is my favoured - being a DIY type person! I'll even look into making up my own flanges for both ends (I have CNC facilities at home) and then it would be a case of getting someone to do the tube work - of course this is risky though...

I don't know much about turbo manifolds but always remember the old mantras:
1) Buy cheap, buy twice
2) Cheap, Powerful, Reliable. Choose 2.

SP Motorport cast manifolds from Australia - used in the Aussie made SP model and several race cars - still available if you hunt around. Mine has 190,000km on it trouble free.
