Normal. Your stereo, lights etc all do the same (watch the dash lights dim as you fire it up). Just the starter motor sucking all the power.

Mine is a bit of a mystery (mk1).It has an aftermarket stereo and only ever used to go up when you selected the radio itself (as apposed to CD or USB).Now it goes up as soon as I select any source.I have no idea why, but it never does what you describe above either. If I turn the ignition on but don't fire the engine and then turn the stereo on, it will go up and stay up even when I fire up the engine. Can any ICE experts possibly explain why that would be? I don't really want the aerial up if listening to CD's or USB stuff.

Put a switch into the ariel wire, do you really want it up (oo-er) all the time? Do you play the radio all the time? Would you want it up if you were driving through monkeys in a safari park or past a gang of suspicious looking hoodies? smile

Plus get one of these and feel like an F16 pilot every time you put the ariel up biggrin
