leaking roof

guys, leaking roof on my mums mk2 mx5

i think the water collects in the split/join in the drivers side padding that the window edge pushes against

i tried raising the window a little to help the seal last year but its still leaks

is there a fix for this ?

the roof does have a rip in it as well so other question is how much is a new or reconditioned roof ?

the other problem is there is a ton of condensation in the winter as well as the leaking piece

There will be if you have a hole in the roof!

I had the same thing, solved with a new roof.

You can replace the seals around the window/roof area or do this;

Worth a try. The seals are roughly £30 per one and theres 3 per side.

And get one of these;

Or two of them. In around 2 weeks or so it'll be nearly full of water from the condensation inside the car.

Water that dampens the interior 'cos there is a hole in the roof...

I have this.

Water seems to collect in the rubber strips but does not egress into the car until I am driving - the first time I brake causes the water in the strips to flow forwards and down into my lap!!

This water then dampens the carpet causing condensation.

Drain holes need clearing regularly. Best thing to use is some flexible curtain wire.

Sounds like the hood has shrunk so isn't covering the seals properly any more. If it's split it sounds like it's time fir a new hood.

Fit rubber floor mats and brake hard into the first corner. Worked a treat on my old MKI
