I don't know if its got damp or whether the ecu has reset itself when the battery went flat, but the car (1.6 mk1) won't rev past 2100rpm.

Up to that point its fine with no miss-firing. It smell a smidge rich but put that down to fuel enrichment when cold.

Also, the speakers don't want to work. I pulled the stereo out and all is plugged in properly. They worked momenteraly, until I had to turn the car off. Then, nothing again. Stereo is firing up ok, just no sound.

Which has left me wondering if its a battery issue. The ground has seen better days and is a little frayed, so need to order one of them. Could this be the root cause? Voltage drop on the ecu?

Just been reading up on this, seems that almost identical issues are caused by a faulty ISCV, can these be cleaned up, or is it a case of throw it away & replace withg new?
