I got myself a Eunos! biggrin

I'm currently sitting in the Stena Line Lounge waiting for the boat to move off, I've driven down from Liverpool to Holyhead and I'm on the way to Dublin to leave the car home.

It's a 1.6 Red Mk1. 1992 car, it has AC, Electric Windows, Glass window, Roll bar, An immobiliser, and I think it might have an aftermarket exhaust... I haven't had a chance to find out if it has an LSD. hehe

I bought it on Saturday for a price that I'm happy with, bought it in Bradford, took it back to Liverpool the same day and parked it up over the weekend. I took mainly A roads down to Holyhead today, but tried to find a few roads to stretch it's legs...

It's an absolute blast! biggrin

For now, here's a picture of it tucked up for the next few hours.. then it's getting a midnight blast to the North of Ireland:

I'll get some good pictures, and maybe a proper write up over the next few days..

Here's hoping that there are no hitches with the insurance too..

Nice one ConorD, enjoy!

And you're right, what is about panel gaps by the lights, my old eunos had a massive one and the current car has a slight gap but only on one light...?! Maybe the effect of 70k miles of wind resistance against the soft aluminium?

You just need to lift the bonnet and pull it up, then put the bonnet down and push the lamp downwards until its flush.

Something like that, anyway.

People, (mechanics generally), lean on the end of the headlamp lid bending it down.

Simply open the bonnet and gently tug the back of the lid up, then close the bonnet and bend it back down flush with the bonnet. Takes 2 minutes.

People lean on them when doing work under the bonnet which squashes them down. To correct it just gently pull it back into shape again.

Damn. Too slow biggrin

Rather than just 'bend them', then engineer in me suggests you might be better off loosening the 4 bolts and using the slotted mounts to make the adjustments, then tighten back up. Thats what they are there for hehe

Possibly though it's that shape because it's been bent down so bending it back up isn't going to cause a problem wink

But if they've been 'bent' down in the first place, then re-positioning the lid will line up the trailling edges but leave you with a strange shape to the body panels, and a poor fit at the sides of the lid/wing/bonnet/.

Far easier and better IMO to restore the lids shape by bending it back.

In this case it looks more like the bonnet is high rather than the lights being low.

Nah - look at the gap at the side of the headlight cover, it looks spot on, it's just the back that's bent down which as any dealer will tell you: "They all do that sir".

Yes, looking again you're right. Have to get mine sorted out before Le Mans.

I forgot to say, a huge thanks to Steve at Goodwood Sportscars. I had spoken to him about a 1.6 Eunos that was advertised on his website, but it was already sold.

He was happy to have a chat, and gave me a good bit of advice for buying one - He was very helpful throughout.

I'm sure others can vouch for him when I say he's a good chap who knows his stuff.

I'm stuck now until the 10th of May away from the car, it's giving me a good chance to sit back and decide what to do to it.

At the minute I'm planning on sorting out wheel spacers and suspension first; either coilovers or springs/shocks. I'm thinking about keeping the OEM alloys and maybe painting them.

I'm also after a Garage Vray splitter, do they ever come up for sale second hand? They're a bit steep at £170 from mx5parts..

For now, a photoshop..

Looks really good and you fixed the headlamp cover lol... i find if you don't move it using the 4 bolts it just goes down again after a bit of motorway driving.. anyway i would probably paint the wheels black, then it would match the splitter(when you get one), but i probably wouldn't lower it that much.. you'll ruin the handling and you'll be scraping your splitter over every speed bump! got mine at oem s special height and the splitter scrapes on speed bumps and large compressions quite often.. only painted it last year aswell an now the underside of it has no paint left on it!
