PH TV&S are going to Abingdon Airfield (near Oxford) on Friday 15th April with Motorsport Events. I'm already on the list. Anyone else fancy it?

Seek employment... Go on track days...

Quite the dichotomy, but the quicker I'm working the more I can do (and gearboxes I can destroy).

Had my first go at Abingdon last month and thoroughly enjoyed it. Struck me as just what you want from an airfield - loads of runoff but an interesting layout and pretty smooth tarmac. In our case it pee'd down in the morning, which was not so good for socialising but great for the driving (at least, it was for those of us on normal road tyres smile making the MX5s as quick as most things that ventured out (911 GT3 and Ariel Atoms excepted!).

I suffered the misfortune of the dreaded blown No1 heater hose which stopped play until the nice man from the RAC came and improvised a working fix (none of the Mazda dealers within a 30 mile radius kept a hose in stock). I knew I should have replaced it when I did the CAS O ring - doh! In the meantime, friendly drivers gave me passenger rides and then, with the car fixed and the track dried out, I ventured out again.

Sorely tempted to have a 2nd day Lazza but the computer says "no". Ah well!
