is there any difference importing from Canada vs USA

Vehicles in Canada work in KMH for speedo, this is the only thing I can think of currently
yeah, if I were to go down this route it'd almost certainly be a Challenger which has a switchable speedo anyway. I'm aware that I'd need to chuck some money at an IT bod to re-do the satnav and radio stations but that's all doable UK_Scat_Pack said:
If you join the Challenger Owners Club UK on FB you will find all the info and advice you require. Quite a few people have imported from Canada but there are a few reasons to avoid it and import from the US instead.

I thought I'd try here first as importing isn t, obviously, Challenger specific. I'll have to pop over on there later (I know, for instance, that Mark Ems has a tidy little business, and is good) but I'm just info gathering ATM to see if I can make the sums work

This is an area I am looking at at the moment for the UConnect 8.4 in this 2023 Challenger. Aside from the lockup issues on start up, which I am trying to resolve at the moment with a prototype circuit to delay connection of the USB stick, the other issue is that the UConnect 4's in the Challengers do not have the required internal hardware for DAB reception. So its FM or AM radio, take your pick, unless you cobble on some kind of external DAB receiver, but then that is not integrated with the screen.Options I am looking at;
1. Lay hands on an EU spec UConnect 4/8.4 that does have DAB hardware, possibly out of a Jeep or a Fiat, then send it to somewhere like Customtronix in Sweden to have Challenger firmware installed on it. Then it should have UK/EU Mapping as well as UK radio station stepping.
2. Buy a UConnect 5 upgrade kit from the likes of infotainment.com, send it to Customtronix to be converted from NA to RoW and then get them to add the DAB extender to it. Then, that should give proper DAB functionality, but admittedly at a hell of a price.
Sticking with the existing UConnect is likely going to get more limiting as more analogue radio stations switch off. OK, so the UConnect 4 will do US HD radio (their version of DAB) and Sirius Satellite Radio, but neither of these will work over here.
Not sure I could get to love the 10" screen on the UConnect 5 conversion, that sits on the surface of the dash rather than in it.....
