I can't understand not even throwing an old tarp over it when it was first stored. So much damage could have been avoided.

belongs to another family member who owns the farm and land who rents him the farm - only interesting bit is its by elvington airfield where hammond had a wee shunt

Back then & into the late '80's it was normal to have the year of import plate rather than the year made, DVLA were not interested in getting it correct.

It's like many things in life - whoever put it into the barn probably intended moving it a few weeks later - then weeks became months, months became years, and there it sits.

Yep.. Mine's a 77' but on a 'W' 1981 plate... Looks like aalot of work to get decent again, and not sure sure 70's Caddy's are worth much now..

There is more pigeon ass mulch on the car than paint. The doors don't fit anymore due to the ingress of bird poo over 40 years.
Shows you farmers have it hard though, I mean its an unused barn, poor farmer

dont think he's looking to sell it although i could ask - interestingly theres a spare bonnet and other bits in the barn too the same colour as the car ( pidgeon white! )

Alwaya baffles me why people let a car get to thos state of deteriation, dont have te time or wish to restore themselves but wont sell it to allow someone else... very sad end to a car...

Its even worse when you get wrapped-up with trying to 'liberate' a car in this situation - you make friends of the owner, spend time with them, aiming to buy the car off them (in a nice way - not trying to take an advantage) and years go by - and you still never achieve it. This happened to me years ago in 1978 - owner had driven a 1934 Railton staight 8 into a Nissen hut 10 years prior to that along with many other interesting cars - to cut a long story short 33 years later its still there and totally destroyed from the rusted-out roof of the Nissen hut. Luckily I diverted my obsession over to Yank muscle stuff - owning rarities like 4 speed 1966 7 Litre Galaxie coupe - 1971 Mustang 429 SCJ - 1967 Fairlane 380 GTA - life carried on! An Eldorado Coupe or Ragtop will be to some the dogs danglies - to others a 7 mpg boat anchor - if you like it try and buy (just don't try too hard)
