Toying with the idea of selling my PO and maybe upgrading a little.
Just checked SC there and classifieds here and there seems to be a dearth of adverts for them. I just wanted an idea of how to word and price mine but nothing to compare with. irked
Is it a bad time to be selling and that's why there are few adverts?

The PO is a popular watch and with the recent price hikes, I think many are holding onto their pieces. Although saying that, it's also a good time to sell, as there will be buyers who do not want to pay the new RRP! Mine is definitely a keeper though biggrin

If I was selling, I would include information on;

-When and where you bought the watch
-Does it include box and papers?
-Technical specs of the watch (Depth rating, movement, co-axial escapement)
-Perhaps a link to a page that explains the co-axial escapement in details?
-A good description of any marks or 'dinks' on the watch
-Lots and lots of in-focus photos!

People who want a PO, want one.

I doubt very much many people would flick through the ads and buy it if they'd never heard of it because they like the look of it.

As such people can be lazy with their ads, if it's priced correctly and genuine, it'll sell.

However, my advice would be:

1) Nice clear pictures.

2) Service history? When did you buy it? Where did you buy it from? Is it a complete 'set'? Anything missing i.e. instructions?

3) Very thorough detailing of any marks, dings, or scratches. Pics if you can.

4) Model Ref. no. Inc size and name of movement and RRP.

5) Anything extra the watch will come with, spare straps, tools etc.

6) Whether you're open to trades, and what they are if this is the case.

7) Sit back and wait for the calls and emails to roll in thumbup

^^ As above, I can't really add anymore.

But pictures, pictures, pictures!
If it has ste pictures, expect to hang around for ages.
But an ad with the above points, decent pics of the watch (and what's included) and a good price will get it shifted quick.

Have a look at a recent ad I did for my Speedmaster here for an idea. smile
I should point out, i'm not saying it's the greatest ad in the world, but just an example of what can work.
