Watch Repair Advice (inexpensive repair for obscure watch)
Discussion
I've got a 30ish year old Russian manual wind watch, which I really like the look of. It's a Raketa Perpetual Calendar (the blue one). An eBay special a few years ago but only recently dug out from the loft.
The plastic "glass" has broken recently and the strap is rubbish.
I've found some nice leather straps on eBay and I recently bought a replacement "high domed" glass of the correct. To cut it short the glass didn't fit, then after some alteration it did, then I realised that there was not enough clearance to the second hand. So it was a waste of a fiver.
I understand that it's an obscure watch but what are the chances that your average watch repair shop can find a suitable glass and fit it for less than £15?
I'd be chuffed to bits if I could get a replacement glass, new strap and possibly flatten the stainless steel finish
