While I recognise that it's not the last word in horological sophistication, I have a Tag Heuer Formula 1 (c. 1994) which was my first "proper" watch - a gift from my parents when I turned 18. I don't wear it any more, partly because I now have an automatic Carrera as an everyday watch, and mostly because the Formula 1 isn't working... It definitely needs a new battery, the crystal is chipped and needs replacing, and the plastic bezel has lost its "click" and just spins round.

I'd like to recommission it - it offers better water resistance than my Carrera (200m instead of 50) and would be a great robust watch to have for holidays and so on. It also has a lot of sentimental value.

Can anyone recommend a place to do the work? I suppose I can always get it sent back to Tag but I know from experience (having recently had my Carrera serviced) that this can be seriously expensive. Clearly I want a proper job done but is there somewhere, ideally in London, where it can be fixed up?

Speak to DomH, I recently took a work mates TAG of similar vintage to him and he reckoned you could buy a replacement for less than the cost of sorting it.

However due to the history you may well want to get it back in tip top condition.

DomH recently did a first class job on 16010 Rolex for me.

I have a Carrera WV211B that is almost 10 years old and is going fine!

Thanks chaps - I fear my Formula 1 is far too plebeian for heuerboy, but I've emailed Dominic H. smile
