Very definitely worth something.
Stick some pics up, people on here may well be able to help you with a valuation.
If not, I'm sure someone will know somewhere to get an insurance valuation done. smile

Absolutely classic and sought after (not least by me!). Please post some pics - there are a number of variations.

Not the best pics but I don't think it's fake as it's so old.

Thanks.

Not in great condition cosmetically but mechanically better than my datejust. I was thinking of having it restored but have been told that it would affect the originality.

There's nothing wrong with servicing and cleaning the watch. Get the movement serviced, polish or replace the glass and gently valet the case/bracelet. Leave the dial and hands alone, and you have a well presented 1960's IWC Ingenieur like this....

How much am I looking at to service and restoration and what would it be worth in condition before and after. It's actually nice wearing not chunky and quite snug

Not always a money thing though is it? If it costs a few hundred to have serviced but doesn't add that to the value so what? You will enjoy wearing it more.

Oh yea I understand just curious with value and stuff as I said before actually prefer it to my date just. I also have a very early SS&co (licences under IWC) wind up luminous with wire lugs I think it's made of silver.

If you need more info then I suggest you register with the friendly and well informed IWC owners on the official forum.
See you there!
