I have a Seiko Sumo SBDC003. Blue face.

It's very nice, and it's the most pleased I have been with any watch purchase. Fine.

But I find myself increasingly looking at the SBDC001. This is the exact same watch, only with a black dial.

Tell me this is normal? Everyone I know already thinks I'm mental and they've said if I blow another £300 on a watch that's almost identical I want incarcerating.

Any of you lot got the same watch only with a different colour dial?

For reference, here's my Sumo:

And here's the 001:

Help.

You're asking on the wrong forum - I expect most of the Watches regulars have more than one watch that could be used for diving, more than one watch that could be used to time rocket fuel bursts upon re-entry and more than one watch that could be worn with a smart suit. biggrin

I can't say it would be a bad thing since i have had the same thoughts about SKX007 and SKX009.

You're not the only one thinking something that you can already see as a bit excessive and perhaps a step too far in our hobby!

My beater is currently my Omega SMP that I have on the blue Omega rubber strap and steel deployant clasp (nice story behind sourcing it but that's another thread). As a weekend watch it's great and I don't worry about it whilst playing in the garden with the kids, especially since my 2 year old son is still at the uncoordinated yet enthusiastic stage and is a bit rough with his toys. In the last week I have been whacked round the head with a toy golf club (metal shaft) and clobbered on the forehead with a toy car (911 - got to start 'em young!) which left a star shaped cut and drew blood, much to the delight of my gore-obsessed daughter!

Anyway, I have been considering trying to source a cheap'ish SMP that I can wear on the rubber, stick mine back on the bracelet (mainly due to being at a mate's BBQ last week and he was wearing his and I realised how much I like the look of the bracelet) so that I then have a choice of looks without having to mess around changing straps around. To complicate matters I have also been considering getting a Seiko SKX007J from Creation then putting a black/red stitch Toshi on it for casual wear.

It's crazy - I know I don't need two SMPs and probably don't really need the Seiko, especially as I am supposed to be downsizing and have sold 2 watches recently.
