Hello Gents,

I was wondering if I could elicit some help.

I recently came into possession of a watch that claims to be a Rolex Oyster Date Precision.

However, to my untrained eye, it looks very much like a fake, mainly because the Rolex symbol has fallen off the face of the watch.

I've taken some photos (albeit shoddy phone camera photos with added caffeine induced shakyness) and I was wondering if anybody could confirm it's a £5 Turkey special or not.

Also, I didn't get a picture, but there is no Rolex Symbol on the windy bit, which I thought there should be.

Thanks,

Milk

I would suggest it's a fake.

1) No modern Rolex looks like this watch. The case design would suggest a vintage watch but:
2) No vintage Rolex looks like that and has a display back with a rotor decorated like the one in your pic
3) The fact the Rolex logo has fallen off is not an indication of a fake. I have seen a few high-end pieces where applied indices have detached themselves so this does occasionally happen.

Do a google for 'Rolex Oyster Date Precision' and you should get some pics of what they should look like

I thought it was a fake. Thank you for the confirmation. At least I don't have to feel bad about being given it now, and I can still wear it to fool all of my mates which should be good for a laugh!
