I was in Harrods this afternoon, in the perfumery. When I realised I was queueing behind Ilie Nastase and his unsurprisingly glamorous companion. To be fair, I noticed the watch first, which was a beautiful IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calender 'Kurt Klaus'.

Turns out he's quite the enthusiast.

Anything caught your eye recently?

Not quite of that calibre, but I was surprised to note that the chap waiting on us in Pizza Express was wearing an Omega SMP Chrono.

And a chap in the pub the other night, hammered out of his teeth, wearing a Panerai Daylight. Bloody PAM owners biggrin

The Apprentice contestant Leon has been sporting an orange Omega PO throughout most of the episodes so far ... I also noticed a bloke walking round Sainsbury's wearing a Panerai, which also happens to be Nick Heuer's (The Apprentice, again!) choice of watch smile

SurLord Alan seems to have quite a collection too!

I noticed the guy behind the counter in Maplin was wearing an IWC chrono. I didn't realise they paid that well.

PVD'd Daytona in my meeting today.

Stopped the meeting, said I had to have a look.

When I was passed it................... FAKE!! I knew it, he knew it, he knew I knew it, I knew he knew that I knew it, but no one mentioned it!

I commented on a chaps DSSD the other day.
Me: "oh, a deep sea"
Him: "eh?"
Me: "deep sea sea dweller"
Him "eh?"
Me: "nice watch"
Him: "oh, it was a present"

Who owns a dssd without knowing what it is?!

Or just people who are interested in other things in their life and are not obsessed with the tiny unimportant details of things they aren't?

Haven't got a clue what it would be like to be like that though.

OMG, where to start ... wink

I am actively looking for a JLC Reverso Duo, a Glashutte Original Sport Evo (on trieste strap) and a Dornblueth.

Unfortunately I have to sell a good few to make these an achievable goal ... and I know the Dornblueth will have to be ordered from new.

On the considerably more affordable scale I also like the look of the Seiko Stargate (SKZ327).

Edited to add: oh, I would really, really like an AP Royal Oak, not a chrono and not an offshore ... where are they all? they never seem to come up for sale.

That's a fairly serious watch wish list there. You may have to sell a kidney or two, let alone a collection. Best of luck.
