How much should I be looking to pay

I am looking to buy a black, bi metal Rolex Submariner, what sort of price should I be looking to pay? I've been offered a 1998 model, recently serviced, condition 9.5 out of 10 for £3500, does that sound reasonable?
9.5/10? Wow, that's almost perfect! The price is about right, look carefully at the bracelet. The centre gold sections take the wear and tear I'd expect a fair amount on a 12 year old watch. Also look at the bezel, is the 'knurling' nice and sharp or are the points rounded? Are the original boxes, pamphlets, anchor and COSC cert included? Who did the service and is the service warranted?Hope this helps.

The watch was serviced by Russell Talerman www.russelltalerman.com
It was bought from new by the current owner. I will look carefully at the bracelet and knurling on the bezel. It comes with the original boxes, pamphlets, anchor and COSC cert.

Russell Talerman? That's good enough! He's an excellent watchmaker, I've used him on some high £££ pieces in total confidence in the past. Sounds very complete, hope it works out...It was bought from new by the current owner. I will look carefully at the bracelet and knurling on the bezel.
