I'm thinking of getting a Milgauss (black or LV) but am a little concerned they are a little querky to be easily resellable if I don't bond with it (I tend to either keep watches forever or sell them within 6 months).

Does anybody know what the used market is like for these? They seem to sit at Blowers for a while. Are they unloved by the masses?

I like them, they look quite classic and I like the idea of the magnetic field protection. Wife not so keen.

They're relatively unloved in comparison to the rest of the Rolex range, but they certainly could be moved on. If you're a flipper, just don't buy new as the initial depreciation will be painful!

I think they're classy looking watches. I want a green glass one but I'm not allowed any big purchases for the time being.

I've seen a used one for £3k (black face), which seems pretty much on the money (boxed/papers etc). Probably won't lose my shirt selling it on at that price.

Blowers have a couple up for sale at £3750 (2008 and 2009), both black dial with box and papers.

£4450 new so a bit of a saving but not huge.

Lovely looking watches.

Too shiny for me.

Buy pre-owned.

I agree, too shiny and I hate the 'lightening flash' seconds hand.

its a watch i really would like to buy (green glass version), but tried one the other day and was really surprised to notice that the metal felt plasticky and cheap, anyone else think this?

Prefer the earlier ones, but they come with a bigger wonga requirement

I looked at buying a stainless steel datejust about eight years ago until I tried one on, it just felt cheap, not at all what I was expecting.

Like the green glass ones. My OH really likes them too.

Non-chrono though, so my OCD prevents purchase.

Without responding with an opinion on taste (after all I bought one) I can tell you that the quality of strap on the Milgauss is a million times better than Rolex's of old - comparing it to a 'Date' bought in 2003

Bucking the trend here a bit, but I need to have a White faced Milly in my life at some point. Not fussed on the black faced version although the LV I would consider smile
