A slightly different approach to the 'what watch' threads.

My budget is £1,300.

I am looking for a pre-owned (although very good condition) Omega Seamaster (non-chrono). Automatic movement and ideally blue-faced.

What are my odds? I've signed up to the Blowers and Hacketts notification service and am browsing numerous classifieds on forums.

Am I being too ambitious?

Am amazed at how much the new prices on SMP have increased. I bought my black full size automatic from Beaverbrooks high street jewellers 5 years ago and it cost £1250. Couldn't afford a new one now. Glad the OP has found one, you won't regret it, stunning watch in blue or black. (I've had both)

The seller has a very good rep so there shouldn't be any issues with the watch, if you need a hand getting in contact with him let me know. Seamasters of various forms come up reasonably often on TZ so if this one does go you may not have to wait too long for another. smile

Bump!

A couple of weeks on and still having no luck. Same requirements and budget but can't find anything!

The example given earlier in this thread was perfect but we couldn't work out terms (on my part).

Any suggestions on how the hell to get my hands on something!?

Not a lover of the skeleton hand versions myself. Have a look at the 2255 stainless steel with blue face with proper sword hands or the the Titanium version 2232. I have a black on black 2254 and love it to bits. They have lume so bright you could almost read by it.

I was 'the other guy' on TZUK! Shame. I take it the sale has gone through then?

Thanks for the offer but I'm looking for some a little newer. Nice looking watch though!
