I'm a bit of a watch newbie, but I'm looking for a military style watch for £100 or so. I really like the Astroavia R7 which I found on another thread here.

It is on this link - http://www.wernersflyingwatches.com/products.asp?P... for £89.99, but after contacting Werners Flying Watches this is an old link and it is now double that price frown

Any other suggestions for something similar at around the £100 mark, £150 max. Nick at Werners suggested the S66/S67 but I'm not quite as keen.

I was going to post this in the 'What watch for £50' thread, but it obviously doesn't fit within that price bracket.

It's probably a can of worms, but what is the view on replica watches here? I quite like some of the U-boat ones, but will never pay that much for a watch. Are the replica's even worth considering - such as these - http://www.just-replica.com/replica-u-boat.html

You can get the Parnis homage to uboat for a mere £60 from ebay. You gotta remember they are a rather chunky 50mm though

Yes I don't want a 50mm monster eek, I think 43mm is the max size for my skinny wrists smile

I thought U-Boats were 45mm minimum?

If you think 43mm is the max size for your wrist I would avoid them anyway, even the fake ones wink

I seem to recall Werner's weren't the cheapest suppliers of Astroavia watches out there, have you looked for a different source?

Buy this. Really. I did. Then ordered some more.

Just lovely. The finish is stunning. This chap seems to have obtained the last of them and they are a bargain. Retail was 4 figures. The alligator strap alone is worth half the asking.
