An incoming watch I have has been listed as "International Hub Awaiting Customs clearance" since Monday.

It's the first watch I've bought that has done this so I've no idea what to expect.

How long does it typically stay in customs? How do they contact me if they need payment for duty?

up to 2 weeks . would of thought if its been in in customs for a few days you will be charged .hit and miss with that . think they would normaly get in contact with you so you can pay the taxes on a card before it is sent to your house. if it says gift on the box then normaly you get away with it . only thing is if it says gift on it . its not insured for full amount .
sorry they sent payment for the vat details though the post .

Who is handling the package if its Fed Ex, DHL or RM they sort it out and you pay them. You do not have to wait you can ring them and get the cost, pay on your card package released straight away.
