I have been looking for a watch like this one for ages and have just stumbled upon the existance of this one. I like the fact it's simple, cheap, very waterproof, ruberised strap and bears a passing resemblance to a seamaster. I can't seem to find one everywhere lists it as out of stock. I have been searching through google this afternoon with no luck. There seem to be a few model options on the casio site that are essentially the same and I would take any if I could find them.

Does anyone know where I could get one? alternatively suggestions for similar...

Rotary aquaspeed
timex expedition rugged

Seem to fit the bill but I do preffer the casio for some reason.

I got one to use at work from Argos - not sure if it's in the latest catalogue though.

Would suggest having a look at some of the Seiko divers watches, good reliable pieces of kit and a lot of variations to choose from.

Looks like it's been discontinued. Amazon are selling the MDV-102 which is the marlin version but double the price I paid for mine.

Good summer watch which takes the knocks. The led light is incredibly bright too. With the lights off it'll get you up the stairs.

ETA not worth the best part of £100 though. For that money I'd stretch the budget a tad for the Seiko SKX007

Discontinued is what I seem to be finding too. I was hoping that it wouldn't have been too long ago so there would still be some in stock. I came across the marlin version but at that price it is on par with the rotary via watchshop.com. What would be the better time peice? What is the marlin anyway? it doesn't come up on the Casio site. I found something suggesting it was a nod to their history of dive watches.

The seiko's are nice, I really like the SKX007K but it is a fair bit more than I wanted to spend on a bit of a beach watch.

Good suggestions. I have spent a little while looking now I NEED this one...

Same look and importantly: Seiko movement and water resistant to 1000m with a helium release valve. It is so over the top how could I not buy it?

I now seem to have found a dive shop with it in stock on the way home for a mere £81.65. Should be great for a paddle or getting caught in the rain.

Good choice, I have a 500m Apeks with a slightly different case, very pleased with it so far. If there is a 500m or 200m version of the watch you picture I'd go for that over the 1000m helium version. If you do online research you will read that the valves are a bit weak and can leak when submerged. They are cheap for a reason and corners have been cut here and there and they have faults. A 500m/200m version will do all you need it to do.

I bought mine from here:

Lovely looking watch, That was my second favourite in their range the 500m with the thicker case. I haven't found any bad reviews on the 1000m watch. Having said that I haven't found any good ones either. I suppose only being sold in dive shops limits the market size a bit. The 200m would easily what I want from it. I just love the absurdity of a watch that will do so much more than I want or need from it.

There are lots of good reviews here and there, they are also rebranded as Aqualung watches so worth searching for that too. Which ever you choose you won't be disapointed.

I went for the 500m slimline mens in the end. The guy in the shop said the same about the valve failing on the 1000m. He said there have been some user failures on the big case 500m too as the crown is the same as the slimline so people can have trouble screwing it down leading to leaks. My wrists are small to the slimline looks better too. So far it's light and comfortable love it. I may have a look for a nato or velcro strap to get rid of the overlap I get on the resin straps.
