I presume that is the non Chorno. That means an increase of a grand over the old model

Indeed with no definite on arrival date.
Still I placed my order wink
to replace the original PO I had as a birthday present.
ETA data is wrong though
July is the expected date for all new PO models here in the UK, and it's:

£3680 for Black non Chrono
£4880 for the black chrono
£4740 for the orange chrono
£6300 for the blue chrono

Not really.
A new Submariner is what, £5200? The PO has greater water resistance and an HEV (not that it makes any difference to 99.9% of people). And Rolex do no diver's Chrono, so the PO Chrono has no competitor.
Omega are chasing Rolex and IMO are doing a good job, the new PO has a superb inhouse movement and looks fantastic. Compared to the Submariner it is a bargain as well.

I think they've pushed the brand to the utter limit now.

They can't start throwing prices like that around and carry on with cardboard cut outs of James Bond at the duty free.

I see on the website there is a white ceramic bezel on offer yet I fail to find a picture, has anyone seen it?

Personally I think it looks a bit more "diver" and alot less "classy" than the older one.

I feel the new prices seem quite steep due to the fact that it wasn't long ago when the original PO had a recommended retail price of around £2K. However the new Planet Ocean is a major step up in terms of specification - As Lukebird says, if you take into account the additional features, then it is still well priced in comparison with the competition.

-New ceramic bezel
-Metal applique logo
-In house 8500 movement with co-axial escapement, silicone balance wheel, and 60hr power reserve
-Display back

You also have to take into account the strength of the CHR against the Pound - It doesn't help prices here! On the other hand, there are not a lot of watches that have an in-house movement for less than £4K! I am surprised, if the prices above are correct, that a blue PO Chrono can be £1.4K more expensive than a black or orange PO Chrono confused The 'blue' variant is hideous ...

To be honest, I'm glad I have the 'old' version biggrin

Does this mean the value of the old one is going up yet?

I bought mine brand new for around £1700 3 years ago!

There is one on TZ for similar money but its not selling.
Around £1500 for a quicker sale I guess on a non chrono.
Dependent on size.

Not initially
due to the cost/time to produce
the black will have ceramic bezels.

from here:
In addition to the new for 2011 Speedmaster Co-Axial Chronograph Automatic watch, Omega offers a new Planet Ocean Seamaster Co-Axial Chronograph Automatic watch with the new in-house Omega caliber 9300. There is also a three-hand Seamaster which also has in-house made Omega caliber 8500 automatic. These new pieces are fantastic, and show just how dedicated Omega is to making its two core sport watch collections better and better.

One quick note for you watch movements nerds. The original caliber 8500 for a few years ago did not have a silicon hairspring, but all the new versions do. What you see here the range of new pieces for 2011. I want to start with the more simple three-hand Seamaster Co-Axial Automatic. There will be black and blue version. The blue will have Omega's Liquidmetal bezel, but not the black one yet. Last year Omega came out with a limited edition Omega Planet Ocean Seamaster with a Liquidmetal bezel, this was to test the new ceramic/metal bezel. Since then Omega has acquired the rights to Liquidmetal 100%. This means they plan on going full scale with Liquidmetal soon, but right now they are still ramping up their ability to industrialize its use. Though, I will say that the blue Liquidmetal bezel watches are not limited in production.

Ah, right! I thought Omega would have used the LM in the ceramic bezels as per the Liquid Metal Limited Edition, but I didn't know there was an issue with cost/time to produce these.

Just noticed that the most expensive Chrono variant is due to the case being made of titanium! More here:

Must admit, that although it's pretty pricey it does look fantastic!
