Never been a fan of Rolex, not a lover of 40mm watches always been the larger watch fan ie Panerai but tried on a deep sea dweller the other day and i rather liked it.

Just now contemplating shelling out 7 large for this piece....Is it worth it......

Your opinions.....

No, I wouldn't personally.

But if you like it, can afford it and justify it, go ahead - treat yourself.

Cliche mode off.

The DSSD is a fine leviathan of a watch !

There are deals to be had on unused or like new pieces from various dealers if you have a search on-line, you should end up paying a chunk less than the list price you mention.

Seen a few comments re. The dssd.

A lot of people seem to buy and then sell them on quickly, maybe they're a bit hard to live with?

I'd buy a used example if it was me.

had mine for over a year now, wear it most days, other watches I have do not get a look in really, the only other one I wear often is my Garmin Golf GPS watch smile

The SDDS is very well put together and so far I have not managed to break it (I do wear it for sport, mountain biking etc so has a few scratches but nothing serious so far!)

I love mine but I don't think you'll need to spend 7k on it - blowers have a couple for £5k, one of them unused!
I only wear mine occasionally.

I'll soon be in the market for something new.

The DSD is in the frame along with a JLC and a couple of others.

I tried a DSD on a few weeks back and was concerned that it was out of balance i.e. the strap wasn't heavy enough for the casing's weight.

This could be an illusion but it just felt unbalanced to me. Still might buy one though biggrin

Great watch, had mine nearly a year, as long as your wrists are big enough to take it.

+1, had mine for 6 months now and when I travel I now take it as my daily beater along with a couple of other watches from my collection. It is fantastic well manufactured.

I'm not too sure that it will. Unless there's any NOS around , they can only be bought used. I think the going rate is around £3.5k. As Rolex seem to put their prices up every time it's Tuesday I can't see a good SD going for a great deal less.

Could be wrong though "time will tell" smile

They take some getting used to but they are fantastically engineered. A real step up from previous gen Rolex. Very comfortable when adjusted properly.

One guy in my old office has one. Doesn't look great with a shirt and tie IMO but he is a diver so his actually does get used apparently. I tried it on and its surprisingly comfortable for a big watch.

Don't see size for me a problem, as mentioned having owned 44mm and 47mm Panerai's.

The dssd will be one of the smallest watches i have owned in years.
