I was given it in 1998 and it has never missed a beat until my Ex-bird decided to wind it up and the thingy fell off in her hands!

It went away and came back fixed but with a very small bit of fluff that would move around the face of the watch. Very occasionally it would randomly get between the hands and the watch would stop. Manually reverse the hands and all fine. This would happen once every few months so it was live-able with.

The fluff/debris has now disappeared and I think it has gone down the date (bit!) hole as I was winding the date round. The watch has now stopped; full stop.

Where is the best place to get it fixed and serviced??

All/any help appreciated........

Seconded. My similar vintage Seamaster came back working better than ever after a holiday with Mr Burrage.
