Struggling to make a decision
Discussion
Hi all.
I am trying to make a decision on my next watch but I really cannot. I have the following shortlist and like them all.
Panerai GMT PAM 00161
Rolex milgauss GV
Sub ceramic
GMT ceramic
Can anyone advise what is going to keep reasonable money over the next 5 years?
I currently own
Tag monaco
Omega Planet ocean
Sinn flieger chrono
Uboat Classico
I have 7 inch wrists. Anything too small looks a little lost. I do find that the latest Rolex bracelets (non oyster) seem a litlle small for the lugs, if you get my meaning. Just looking for input...
Cheers

Wiki you make an excellent point. Not really looking for resale just being very indecisive. RAH. As for the dssd. I like the size but I don't think I can get on with the advertising of the original gas escape valve ring lock system on the face. I personally think it looks a little cheap/gimmicky. Sub or Gmt I think. Just cannot choose. My wife does not like the mil gauss. Not that she is wearing it but it helps to keep the good lady happy.

SubC for me.
I'm not mad keen on PAMs (anymore), I think they're a bit of a fashion thing.
Milgauss' wouldn't necessarily be difficult to move on but you may find the design difficult to get on with. If you're not 100%, might not be the best of ideas to plough a load of money in to one.
GMTC, arguably better VFM than the sub with the extra timezones, wouldn't be a bad choice.

The PAM would provide the greatest contrast to what you already have IMO and on that basis is probably the one I'd go for, either that or the Sub.
Can't see any of them looking small on a 7" wrist and can't really comment on the residuals.
ETA have you tried them on?

That's because they've moved to the far less elegant "maxi" case.Buy a nice s/h sports Rolex & loose virtually nothing. Buy a 16600 Sea Dweller privately & you may even see a small gain.

I have a 7.5-8" wrist and nothing over 40mm looks in any way small.
My 45.5mm PO is about as big as I can go without looking like I've strapped a saucer to a twig.
If you're comfy with it, then that's all that matters, but bear in mind that if you care what other people think, they're likely to think that a PAM on a 7" wrist is farhooking huge and looks a bit daft.
SD 16600 is the way forward, I reckon.

Oh, your list.
Milgauss. Bit different, versatile, and not as "Look at me! I'm a massive watch, me! I SAID LOOK AT ME!" as the Panerai.

I appreciate all the feedback.
I have tried them all on. The PAM is off the list. I didn't really like it when it was on. To me it seems more of a fashion choice. I really dont like the new dssd either to be honest.
I will have a look at the Sub and GMT 2. I really like the GMT 2. I have never owned a Rolex before so it might be a reasonble first step. However my father was a submariner, I like the connection there. I also like the extra timezone on the GMT 2 and it would come in useful as I travel. I just worry about the polished center links Hmmm....
Thanks guys.

Polished center links an issue you say?
I have seen it where a skilled jewelry shop has removed the shine from the links so it looks just like the SUB bracelet. I am told this can be undone as well.
