I think I need to get myself a new watch to wear at my wedding as I don't really have anything that suitable. Obviously I've already spent a medium sized fortune so don't want to blow the bank but it still needs to look nice. I'm wearing a traditional morning suit and another key point is that I have tiny little wrists so can't pull off anything too large. Last year I wanted a Renault F1 team TW Steel watch but when I put it on it looked like someone had ratchet-strapped a station clock to my arm.

Needs to be available in the UK too, as it's only just over a week away eek

... and then ignore the subject.

Spend whatever she spends on her dress.

Inform her you'll use the watch more than once.

Inform her she is marrying you and your watches too.

Ignore that last bit.

hehe

He parents bought the dress, I'm buying a watch and the budget is self-imposed as I want a new car and some other toys soon. I'm not really a watch person but don't think my Seiko 5 will cut the mustard on the big day!

Agreed. Small face, discreet, traditional feel. I bought one to wear to my sister's wedding. Any excuse to buy a watch. hehe

bks to Push the budget and go for a Tissot PRC 200. Smart watch which you can wear in the pool, also goes nicely with a suit.

^^ This, or for a tad more, a Visodate.

Not the most original of PH watch forum recommendations but it does, in this instance, uphold the tradition of upping people's budgets biggrin

Good luck for the big day!

Another good idea* would be to sign up to TZ-UK and see what you can pick up.

(* - I say "good idea"; it's a fking terrible idea. You will go in meaning to spend £200 max and a week later have bought 5 watches with a total cost of £1500.)

Buy it in a real shop, with receipts and warranty etc. if you plan on keeping and using it.

What's wrong with a nice Seiko 5? I have mine on today with shirt/tie/cufflinks and it all goes together well.

Crikey, why give yourself stress about what you're going to wear?

I'm so glad mine was simple:

Book venue
Send out invites to "40th Birthday Party"
Look at their faces when they arrive Friday night to be told its a wedding :-)

My 10 year old Swatch was falling apart when I got married - didn't take anything away from the day.

Have a great day whatever you choose.

What does that mean? I thought the seller looked legit, am I missing something?

PRC-200 would be my recommendation at this kind of price, as I'm said countless times on here, I love mine (but wear it too much and its showing some wear now).
