It all started about 3 weeks ago, it was my B'day and I was getting asked what would you like, usually it takes me ages to think of something or I end up with gift vouchers etc. I've always faniced a smart watch (I've had fashion watches but nothing 'proper') so I decided to get a decent watch and have some money put toward it.

Thats when it all started!, I've been a lurker on PH forum for quite a while but mainly in the readers rides section so thought I check out the watch section to see if I could find any recommendations. From here I also found the TZ-UK forum.

So after looking about I decided that the watch would be a Seiko Orange Monster which I purchased through Creationwatches (Awesome service btw) very nice it is as well. But it didn't stop there. I now can't stop looking through different watch forums. I can't justify or afford to spend big bucks on an Omega etc but I love finding topics with the affordable wathes on, from this I found Christopher Ward and a few others. I also love the What watch for £50 topic on here

As a result I ordered a Seiko 5 Military (Black dial, black nylon), which I plan to use as an everyday watch along with the monster, hopefully it will land next week. But I still wanted something a bit more special (but still affordable) Christopher Ward grabbed my attention and I started to really like the look of the Pilot style watches, the C8 Pilot looked awesome and I've found myself looking through so many different forums to find reviews, pics etc on it. Then I found the Steinhart Nav B-Uhr and really couldn't decide which I wanted (maybe both, lol)

Anyways last night I ordered the C8 Pilot MkII, Black dial brown leather strap, and can't wait to get it. I went for this over the Steinhart mainly due to it being a UK company, the awesome customer service I keep reading about and the five year warrenty

So Soon I will have.

Seiko Orange Monster (already arrived)
Seiko 5 Military
Christopher Ward C8 Pilot MkII

You need a dress watch, a beater, G Shock, vintage russian snotter from ebay, and a watch box.

Get with it man!

Add up haircuts, shoes, handbags, lotions, potions and car accident repairs.

Congratulations, you have an affordable hobby in comparison.

I justified it like this once, however I enjoy sleeping on the couch. Its like camping.

You're doomed.
Enjoy the ride.
There's never a big enough watch box.

Yep it seems as though its a very slippery slope smile

Can't wait to get the C8 pilot as it will be the first of this type of watch that I've seen in the flesh. Hopefully it will settle down after this, and I'll have to think what type of watch I want next!

I've just counted mine. 43...I thought is was in the low 30s frown

Perhaps I should consider selling some, because I don't wear them all and I can think of loads more that I would like to buy.

When you start hiding them from the Mrs you know it's all kinds of wrongness.

Its a lovely Sewills quartz though so it should come out really.

The secret is not to let them find out. You need a special bank account for your 'hobbies' with no paper statements. It's handy to have watches that all look the same, then they tend not to notice. Me, I like Rolex sports models so I'm pretty safe.

Having said that I've just bought a Planet Ocean - a very orange one. I foresee some difficulties explaining this one away!

Already got the planet ocean none orange big dial version and Im now trying to find a rolex that looks similar so that I can buy that too and the OH wont find out as she thinks Rolexs are for snobs and showoffs... took her a while to accept that I was going to buy the Omega as she thought that was a little expensive.

I started off with a Monster last summer and have averaged between 1 and 2 a month since then, most of them more expensive and a couple were hidden from the OH until I was feeling brave enough....

Welcome, and don't say we didn't tell you wink
