Where to buy a large Topaz stone

[skoff]

I am looking for a large Topaz stone that will go on a ring I plan to have made for my wife. She has her heart set on Topaz as it's her birthstone, she wants something blue and big (35+ carats), cut in an oblong shape (emerald cut??). I've seen plenty on eBay, and even bid for one, but if I am honest I don't really trust buying such things from eBay and the speed with which a second chance offer came in on the one I 'lost' made me think there was some underhand practice going on.

So can anyone recommend a reputable source for such things? Also any advice on pricing and what to look for would be very gratefully received.

Have a look around here, a friend of mine buys here from time to time with no problems.

Holt's Hatton Garden.

I have a number of stones from them (morganite - since that's my thing) however they can also source, and design to your requirements.

Absolutely reliable.

Also have a look online at Paraiba International (Based in New York though). They have a large selection of gemstones for sale and present each stone very well online.
