Hi,

Wife is about to come Upto 30 and fancies a watch off me as a gift.

I have budgeted about 1k and she is happy with a second hand one if it's a nice watch.

We quite like art deco looking ones but not very clued up on watches so after abit of advice......

Is 1k enough for a nice watch that will hopefully last a lifetime.

Thanks in advance!!!

Second hand and art deco styled?

If it is for best I would get a 1930s to 1960s made watch from the likes of Hamilton, Elgin, Longines etc.

Lovely...she could even wear a mans watch from that period as they are so much smaller than modern watches. Of course, there are a lot of disadvantages to wearing a watch that old if it is going to be used daily.

I know this one is ending in 5 hours, but watches like this come up all the time on ebay and usually sell for next to nothing, which leaves plenty left over for a modern daily wearer.

My good lady wants rid of her modern Longines if you're interested. Five years old. As close to new as possible with all boxes and papers including diamond certificate. Want £640 for it.
