hmm. did a search on this, couldn't find anything.

i got the misses a citizen eco-drive for her last birthday.
she's started using high pressure tanning booths, and it occured to me that the watch is going to be taking a massive dose of uv. is it likely to cause any problems?
i wouldn't really be concerned, but she looks black from 10 minutes a week. lol.
should i tell her to remove it as a precaution?
thanks

She'll have a white mark on her wrist, she can use it later in life as a graft for her crows feet.

Seriously, why do they do it to themselves, it's October, you're not supposed to be that colour.

I had to check to see if the OP was from Essex, but sadly not! smile

Can't see the sunbed doing much harm to the watch if it's a steel case. I don't know much about intense UV so can't comment on whether it would affect any composite materials or the solar cell on the watch. Possibly though a G Shock may stand up better to the abuse.

Advise her not to wear it to avoid possible damage and a tan line. Best advice would be not to use the tanning machine at all

Wear a big watch, it'll protect her wrist from the cancerous rays.

Seriously, please tell her not too, my OH is a cancer care nurse and sees so many young people with the disease these days, all of whom were just after a tan.

I reckon if you use it in the sunbed it will capture way too much UV and over-wind the main spring, probably resulting in it busting, or something like that.

That is all..... hehe

Is "Solar watch on a sunbed" the new "plane on a treadmill"?

Those mini UV lamps they have in pubs, the ones they use to check if the £12 note you just gave them is fake ?

Charges the lume in double time too.

Can also be used for giving any small rodent pets a top up tan too.

I could set up a pet tanning shop targeting brain dead women.

an excellent idea - this would easily become the next 'big thing' amongst the kensington & chelsea ladies who 'lunch'. this would spread to holland park, putney & richmond, hammersmith & fulham, then to ...down M4 to the 'country set'...then crossing the channel to paris; thereafter the WORLD

RemainAllHoof, you must patent this application and concept asap. you'll be retired sunning it up on the cote d'azur in no time at all!!
ps could make good christmas voucher gifts for 'what to buy a pet that has everything' xmas

biggrin

But why would I need to sun myself? I can just stick different parts of my body under several pet tanning devices.
