Just wondering really, I've owned my present kinetic seiko for 20 years and it's going doolaly.

I like watches but don't go for anthing too showy and have stumbled along some black Skagen watches for a couple of hundred pounds. I like the look of them, but wondered if anyone has any experience

Thanks

Mike.

A couple of hundred pounds? Too much for a Skagen, Amazon sell them for about £70 http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_6?url=s... My wife has one, very slim and pretty (the watch, though Mrs G is not too bad either), and for £70 they are fine (though the batteries are hard/expensive to replace) but for £100+ have a look for a Seiko automatic on a site like creation http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-127/

The missus has one, I would suggest they don't age well.

Expect it to last 3 years before it looks tatty and you'll be ok

I bought one of the newer model with several dials in the face. It is lovely. However I travel on planes a lot and found I could not tell the time in dim light as all the hands were silver/shiney and you couldn't work out what was going on. So I only wear it locally now and use my Seiko for business trips.

Go for another Seiko chap, if you want reliable and a decent price, they're hard to beat!
