Gone, but not forgotten....
Discussion
Well, I've just carefully polished up my Longines, placed it carefully in it's original presentation box and found a suitable cardboard box to pad out and use to send the watch off to it's new owner tomorrow..... >sniff<.... I even gave it a good wind after setting the time using my atomic G, not that it'll still be going by Monday when it gets to it's destination.... Even though it was rarely worn I'm sad to see it go, but needs must and all that

It hasn't left the house yet, but I know it'll be missed.

Yup, crown down, wasn't for very long though.... Is there actually any harm in placing it crown down? Genuine question.
And it's a chiminea, not a BBQ
If it's a screw in crown then I can't see ANY reason not to put it crown down. And it's a chiminea, not a BBQ

Didn't see that coming, I have just re-visited your posts from when you bought the watch and I suggest you read them again and cancel the sale.
That should be a keeper.
I haven't read the original thread by CS - Was the watch bought as a milestone marker or something? That should be a keeper.
The question to ask is; do you have good reason to sell it? If so, then you'll soon forget about it!
If not, then you might end up regretting your decision to part with it.
Too late, I accepted payment on Wed and dropped it off at the PO this morning.
It wasn't bought for any other reason than I liked it, no milestone or celebration thing. I really fancied a polished and brushed stylish big bracelet watch and this one fitted the bill spot on, it was sold to help replenish funds after buying a Sinn and a Ball (they came as a pair) on TZ. Now I absolutely love the Sinn (an EZM2B GSG9) and I was hoping that the Ball (38mm Ohio) would replace the Longines but, whilst it's quality is obvious, it just doesn't have the presence that the Longines had. I posted some pics of the Sinn up a few days ago, haven't had a chance yet with the Ball.
Was it worth it? Well I'm chuffed with the EZM, I'm wearing it now, but I've also created a gap in my collection. The Ball could always be flipped so I guess all is not lost!

Got a PM this morning from the purchaser saying that he's recieved it safe and sound and that, to quote, "That must be the best metal/pound ratio I have seen in a properly branded watch". I'm glad, and relieved, he's happy, it was my first (relatively) big sale so I'm glad it went well. Now I just need to plan for it's replacement....
Anyone else miss something that they've parted with?

What are you going to replace it with?
At the moment, no idea! I'm going to give my Ohio a chance to shine (see wrist check), if it doesn't work out then another (bigger) Ball could be on the cards, whatever it'll be it won't be new. Could be a while yet, won't rush this decision as I don't want to cock it up
It's the all steel version of this http://www.longines.com/watches/longines-conquest (the watch in the link has a ceramic bezel and ceramic centre links), though neither the watch in the link or the all steel version are mentioned in the Longines site with specs and I didn't take note of the model number when I had it... Ernest Jones in Stratford City Westfield had the ceramic version in their window yesterday but the watch isn't shown on their site either...
Bit of a crap reply, sorry! Actually, I'll drop a PM to the guy I sold the watch to, hopefully I'll be able to get the model number that way
