Hi,

I have a watch to sell, it's worth approximately £1,600 and I have had some vague interest so far, but I need it sold fairly quickly to raise enough of a deposit on our new house.

So, where's the best place to sell? I'm working everyday for the next two weeks so I don't really have time to get into Southampton or Bournemouth to speak to high street jewellers. Will they sell on commission? Or am I best to put it on eBay? I have it in the classifieds here and on a few forums so far, but I'm thinking I'd be best listing it somewhere collectors would specifically look.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Dan

You could try here

http://chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/

Jewellers commission (if they will sell on that basis) will be high.

I've sold a couple to the gentleman who runs this site

http://www.gentlemanwatchcollector.co.uk/

May be worth getting a bid

tz-uk.co.uk Might be worth a look, depending on what type of watch it is and how realistic your pricing is(no offence)

But it probaly wouldnt hurt giving the local jeweller a call see if they are interested that will at least save you a trip. But if its only worth 1600 in his window, no idea what he would buy it off you for.

You can't join up just to use the place as a free shop window to sell your watch though, which is why I suggested Chronotrader

Thanks for all the replies. Sold it last night on the Audi RS owners club forum for £1,500. It was a Tag Heuer Carrera.

You can't join up at all. Ever. Well you can if you're on the site between 01:00 and 01:01 on the 9th Saturday of the 14th Month of each year.
EFA wink

Oh and good news on selling it Dan, I noticed on your PH ad you were thinking of selling the car as well, does this mean the Z4 will go??

With circa 6700 current members I guess a few did make it in.

For those that can't figure it out - I guess that's just natural selection in action wink

Already sold I'm afraid!

Scary selling all my toys, watch gone, car gone, bike going (it's on eBay and doing well). I am keeping my kayak though!

The house purchase is going well. Aiming to be in for the start of March and we're very excited. smile
