Crude question, but what would something as classy as that set a gentleman back (feel free to PM). I'm keen to reward myself with something later in the year and love the idea of the personal touches you can make.

Thanks
Rich

For all of you newbeez search for a Dornbluth post by a guy on here who went to pick up his watch in person, see if the workshop is what you expected.
Stop teasing, you know the search facility is almost always offline (as it is right now apparently) smile

Oh my, so much want.

There's something wonderful about an old workshop with old tools that gives the brand a magic quality not found nowadays - like the antithesis to a Mclaren/Tag offering as if its a Morgan-esque individuality.

The hand-written note, the wooden box, hand written warranty sheet, personal engraving - it all adds to the desire.

Love them, but for me 42mm is too big. He did do a midsize before, and I am on the list if he ever does a midsize again.

I've had 99.1 since September 2010 and I still love it. Even though I have more valuable watches, it's still very much my special occasion watch

I bought my 99 in 2005 - took nine months to build and the interaction with Dirk who owns the business was always a pleasure, a real gent who cares passionately about what he does. As an example, a couple of months before completion he asked me what colour strap I would like, I told him "British Racing Green" - this resulted in a puzzled response but he said he would look into it, a week later he said "Ive found a supplier who can produce the right dye so you can have BRG but are you sure...??" - yep I said and then the watch arrived but fter week I decided that I didnt like the colour and went off to buy a cheap Hirsch strap in blue. A couple of months later I sent Dirk some feedback on the watch (best regulation of any I have owned etc..) and also told him he was right about the colour and that I'd replaced the strap with a blue one. Shortly afterwards a Christmas card arrived from him and inside was a blue alligator strap (worth about £150) as a gift. During the build process he sent me pics of the watch as it progressed.
Value for money, these just cant be beaten in my view but one word of warning unless you are convinced you will keep the watch forever (my choice) dont have any personal engraving done to the back plate - it will kill the resale value as seen recently on TZ-UK.

So if you have the readies dont hesitate!
