I've been looking at a few different watches and have now decided on an Omega Speedmaster Professional (3570.50.00?)
I've got a holiday coming up and wondered if there is any benefit to buying either at Heathrow or in the USA as the watch has an international warranty?
I've had a look through some older posts as I thought this would be a popular question but couldn't see anything.

Any advice/ suggestions gratefully received.

I looked at Omegas in the US and they worked out about the same as UK prices at the time. With Heathrow they are not really 'duty free', they are giving you the same discount that I reckon you can get by putting your CC on the counter at your local AD and saying you're there to buy if the price is right. I prefer to buy via local AD, as long as discount is forthcoming! If not, there are plenty Omega AD's around...

I can't help with the price but if you've got an hour or two spare in LA then pop in to Feldmars, great way to waste a few hours.

Was worth it when it was 2 green backs to the pound but not now. I'd give Dom H a shout I'm sure he'd be amongst the cheapest

Thanks, in general what sort of discount would be possible/normal?

Thanks, I've seen his name crop up a few times with good recommendations, I will get in touch. Is he likely to be cheaper than duty free at the airport do you think?

Yep.

I bought my Speedy from Dom. Can't fault the whole experience.

On Omegas these days I'd be walking if I didn't get an absolute minimum of 15%, but I'd be chasing more quite frankly.

18 - 20 % is a realistic expectation, based on my research a couple of months ago when looking to buy a Speedy.

+2 for Dom H; got me a cracking price on the same watch (even though I didn't buy from him in the end, having received the watch as a surprise gift). Next purchase will definitely be via him.

Got mine on order from Dom H too, I wanted a watch to give to my son on either his 18th or 21st birthday from the year he was born as he's due in a few weeks, Dom has said all the paperwork can be done on the actual arrival date and had been great so far.
